Toyota Repair: no cruise control, brake lite on, brake warning light, jumper wire

Hello Mr Ritter, i have a 91 forerunner 22re 4x4 5spd sr5 with cruise, i just purchased the truck and intermittantly the cruise would cut out on the freeway, the cruise lite will come on but have also noticed the brake lite will be illuminated at all times, and brighter when i pull the e-brake out, have checked the fluid level and brake lites, thanks for your time ,Pedro -please post

The cruise control will not work if the brake warning light on the dash is on.
Since the fluid level is ok and the brake lights are working the problem may be the fluid level sensor in the master cylinder reservoir.
Remove the electrical connector from the sensor and see if the light goes out, if not, insert a jumper wire between the two terminals of the sensor and if the light is still on replace the reservoir.
