Toyota Repair: installing antenna in 1995 Toyota T-100, nose plier, moderate pressure

Question
The truck I just bought, a 1995 toyota T-100 SR5, had the antenna broken off. I have a new antenna but I do not know how to feed the plastic cable into the  powered antenna motor. Is it a complicated job? Also. how do i ensure that the old plastic cable is not still inside?

Answer
you need to take the nut off the top of the antenna. They make a socket for it. You can use a needle nose plier, but be careful not to scratch the paint if it slips off.
remove the guide piece with black plastic ring on it . Look at the mew mast to see what that looks like. It should just pull out, discard it.
Pull the cable out as the ant. is going uo. Compare the lenth to the new one. If its noticably shorter then the ant. will need to be removed and taken apart. Not a do it yourself job at that point. If its close to the same lenth, then install with moderate pressure as you turn the radio off and it should pull it down the tube. Then just reinstall the nut.
