Toyota Repair: Toyota 4Runner - 2006, 2006 toyota 4runner, toyota 4runner

Question
I purchased my 2006 Toyota 4Runner new, about three weeks ago.  The symptoms I am experiencing are:  while driving, as I accelerate and get above 2000 revs, a clicking noise becomes apparrent from somewhere under the hood.  This noise only appears when in gear; in other words if I put the transmission in park or neutral and rev it up over 2000 revs, the clicking does not appear.  My dealer says that this is normal - I find it hard to beleive, the clicking is pretty loud and annoying; my research indicates that I'm not alone with this problem, I've seen similar descriptions sprinkled throughout various web sites and forums.  Any ideas?

Answer
Since I can't hear the noise I can not make a diagnosis, I am not aware of any chronic clicking noise issues and there are no sevice bulletins issued, if the dealer told you this was normal they are probably right, the only suggestion I have for you is to go to the dealer and ask to take a test drive with either a service tech or the shop foreman in your 4Runner and then see if they will take a test drive with another unit off the new car lot to see if the noise is there and the same, if it is then it should be considered a normal noise.
