Toyota Repair: Battery LIght, altenator, light glow

Question
I have a 1988 Toyota Cambray 206000 miles still running strong My batter light has started to stay on for around 15 min or so after starting I have also noticed it glowing dim some times? I have checked the voltage across the battery before starting about 12.6vdc and after starting with Battery light on 14.7vdc the altenator is five months old and battery new whats up? Is and will the battery light glow on a overcharge? Should I disconect it and forget it?

Answer
Yes the battery light will glow if there is an overcharge condition, I would not advise disconnecting the light but I would try another alternator, check with the people who sold the alternator if there is a warranty and if so they should give you another one to install.
