Toyota Repair: Camry Repair, ball joints, splined shafts

Question
I'm trying to replace the driveshafts on my 94 camry, auto trans.
The outer assembly came off very easily on both sides.  Having
disconnected at the ball joints, the outer splined shafts came out
of the hubs easily. However, the inner joints won't come apart
from the transmission.  The manual I read indicated that since
they are not the bolted-on style, that they should just pop or
slide out when pried, but I have had no luck with this so far.  Is
there a trick or something I should look for?   Plus, I have been
prying the right shaft just outside the bearing in the middle,
because there is nowhere to do it on the shaft closer to the
transmission.  Thanks so much in advance for any input! I have
to get the car out of my mother-in-law's garage!  :)

Answer
The shafts normally pry out of the transmission using two prybars and applying equal pressure at 180 degrees, is this a 4cyl or v-6 camry?
There is a snap ring on the right axle in the middle bearing housing that has to be removed to get the axle out.
You can seperate the axle at the bearing by removing the boot and leaving the inner part of the axle in because nothing eve rgoes wrong with the inner part of the shaft.
