Toyota Repair: flasher / inside lights /tail, trailer wiring harness, flasher relay

Question
Hi Ted!

(toyota 4 runner v6 4x4 sr5 1990 )
i was driving the truck and all of a sudden when i put on the left flasher it remain on and not flashing the illuminated arrow in the dash was remaining on (i thought the flasher relay must be stock or sticking) then the  next day it was ok it went back to flashing again but i lost all lights inside the dash and tail light (same circuit) i changed the fuse the worked when the car wasnt turned on and when i left from my shop to go home they just didnt work anymore. i changed the fuse agin and it burned right away. I know that this truck is equiped with a factory module thats turns all the lights on when the engine starts. (beam lights, interior dash lights tail) Have you ever heard of this before, should i change the flasher relay (where is it located) and could it have any effect on the dash lights? it is very weird.

thank for the help1

Answer
The flasher is seldom the problem, if it has a trailer hitch the wiring for the trailer hitch is probably the problem, try disconnecting the trailer wiring from the rest of the system and see if the problem stops, if so, the trailer wiring harness has to be replaced.
