Answer
The information is a little confusing to me I'm not sure if there is an engine or transmission problem so I will need to ask you some very basic questions so I may be able to help:
With the shifter in the "P" position does the engine start and idle without putting it into any gear?
When it is shifted into "D" and the gas pedal is depressed does the engine rpm go up but the car doesn't move?
Does the engine gain rpm in the "N" position when pushing down on the gas pedal, it should go to about 6000 rpm on the tach, as soon as it reaches that point get off the gas pedal, does this happen?
What is the maximum speed that can be reached with the car in the "D" position?
