Toyota Repair: 1991 Toyota Cressida check engine light, 1991 toyota cressida, toyota cressida

Question
I recently replaced the engine in my Cressida with a used engine from Japan, I have put about 300 miles on it, last week the check engine light came on and off, now it stays on, I see the diagnostic terminal next to the battery, Which terminals do I need to jump in order to get the fault code? and do I need to follow any procedure with the key on to initiate the procedure? Thank You, Ken

Answer
Make a jumper wire between terminals TE1 or T1 and E1 with the key on, then count the number of flashes of the check engine light, this will be a combination of two flashes, for instance two flashes followed by five, this would be a code 25, there may be more than one code, there will be a pause between each set of flashes, let me know if you need help decoding them.
