Toyota Repair: check engine light camry, 1991 toyota camry, toyota camry

Question
Hi Ted,
I have a 1991 toyota camry 155.000 miles well maintained.  The check engine light came on yesterday.  I used a wire to connect the engine troubleshooting  module T1 to E1 which gave me flashing engine trouble light as follows: 5 flashing lights with pause and 2 flashing lights; 6 flashing lights with a pause and 2 flashing lights. Can you help me with the diagnosis?
Thanks in advance,
Stan

Answer
They must be trouble codes 25+26 because 52+62 make no sense.
These are O2(oxygen sensor codes)these are normally triggered because of an engine misfire which will make the sensors switch from lean to rich at a rate which the computer sees as a problem.
There is a mechanical problem with the engine, there is a misfire, it can be caused by many things so my advice would be to find what the problem is with the engine, it could be a simple cylinder misfire, a bad spark plug or wire or something more serious like a blown headgasket or leaking valve.
