Toyota Repair: 91 Camry 4 A/T Hesitation 125K, classic muscle car, lawn mower engines

Question
Summer/Fall/Dry/Humid: When (engine) cold, car hesitates
(stumbles?) on moderate acceleration. Even if I idle motor and let
H20 temp come up to normal, it still does this.

Gentle accelerations around neighborhood are fine. It is when I
have to pull out on busy road and give moderate acceleration to
get up to speed. I pull out, and RPMS start to go up, then it is
like I let up on the gas.  It isn't like it is missing (not rough or
jerking)-if you were a passenger, you would think I am
accelerating, just not fast enough. When RPMs get over 2000,
the engine then responds to pedal demand with a roar. I don't
like to wind out a cold motor!

New cap/cords/plugs (OEM) in May. While in spec, I noticed
minute blisters on coil, so I replaced that (OEM) in Aug. No
change. As engine fully warms up, no problem. No codes.

Other than this, car operates as smoothly and quietly as new.
Ideas? Maybe I need to dump a few cups of coffee in the tank :-)

Also, does TMC have any online listing of their cars/motors used
throughout the years? (i.g. "R" family motors, generations,
codes, etc). I have seen some listings, but none seem complete.
Dependability to me is just as important as performance or
styling-that is why I like Toyota.

Junky or not, I would get more excited about seeing a Toyopet
Crown than some "Classic" muscle car from Detroit.
Mechanically, those muscle cars motors are enormous lawn
mower engines-no ingenuity.

Answer
It sounds like you have a transmission problem, the RPM increase without a corresponding vehicle speed increase inbdicates the transmission is slipping which would mean a transmission replacement is needed.
I have no information on the other question.
