Toyota Repair: Toyota 4 runner fuel codes, toyota 4 runner, diagnostic method

Question
I wrote you and got a response about my 4 runner. I did reset and the light came back on. When they put it back on the machine it read a 440. They are going to put it a on another machine that puts smoke in it to find a leak in a hose. Does that sound right? Is ther any way for us to find it? Thanks alot

Answer
The DTC PO440 is a small leak on the emission control evap system, the smoke machine method is a viable diagnostic method and should find where the evap leak is, so yes that does sound correct.
Just let me know, if you could, what they find and is this at a toyota dealer or other repair shop?
Let me know what they recommend to repair the problem maybe I have some input that will help and possibly save you some money.
