Toyota Repair: Toyota 4Runner Timing Belt, 4runner sr5, coolant leaks

Question
I am purchasing a 2001 4Runner SR5 with 63,000 mi.  The timing belt has never been changed and when I listen under the hood, I hear a faint skipping noise.  Is this indication that the belt needs to be changed immediately?  I plan on taking the truck on a long trip.  Do I need to have this taken care of first and how much should it cost?

Answer
I'm assuming this is a V-6 engine, in that case the timing belt is scheduled to be replaced at 90,000 miles but I would find out what the noise was, better have a toyota dealer check it out before going on a long trip and at the same time have them give it a general inspection, brakes, oil, transmission fluid, oil leaks, coolant leaks, air filter, spark plugs(should be replaced at 60k). All of those items should have been done at the 60,000 mile maintenance service, do you know if that was done? If so, I would recommend just having them check for the noise.
