Toyota Repair: Toyota Previa shifter stuck in park, brake light switch, toyota previa

Question
I have a Toyota Previa, 1991, and for some reason the gear shifter is stuck in Park.  I have tried starting engine and turning it off, making sure all brakes were on/off, checked all related fuses (brakes and transmission) and just can't get it to budge.  I had been driving it all day with no signs of anything, and had just popped into home for about 10 min.  When I went back to go out again...AAArrgh!  Mileage is around 208,000km...Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Answer
There is a problem with the shift interlock system, it could be a malfunctioning interlock solenoid, brake light switch(make sure the brake lights work) or an electrical problem, find your owner's manual and locate the shift interlock override switch, I don't have access to a manual and the factory manual doesn't specify where it it is, depress the override switch to get it out pf park, then I would suggest taking it to the toyota dealer to have it checked for what the problem may be.
