Toyota Repair: 83 cressida auto trany high shift, shift pattern, throttle body

I really need help, 83 cressida automatic , the shift pattern is all wrong, gears change at higher than normal rpm, every gear works,no slipping, I believe the trany to be electronically controled.
Once in a while, it shifts normal, use it another day, over revs....
Kickdown seems fine, it works when I floor it.
I would really appreciate your knowledge...

Check the throttle pressure cable adjustment, it's located on the throttle body, there is a small metal piece crimped on to the cable adjust the cable until the crimped piece is about 1 mm from the end of the cable housing, if that is not the problem there may be a problem with the governor in the tailshaft housing of the transmission.
