Toyota Repair: air conditioner, dealer ship, pre runner

2002 Tacoma Pre runner extra cab V-6 70,000 miles

within minutes my truck stopped blowing cool air it only blows hot. the freeon is full and the fuse is good. one of the techs on the way out of the service dept at the dealer ship looked real quick under the dash board next to glove box and said" the ____ is stuck this is the thing that distriubutes hot and cold air through out I forgot the part, name it wasnt to complicated.
So...have any ideas and if so is this fixable by a moron like me

Look for a control cable from the heater control on the dash, it connects under the glove compartment to a lever, if it has come off turn the control knob all the way to cold and reattach the cable, move the lever until it lines up with the cabe and push the outer cable housing onto the retaining clip. If this is not the problem let me know.
