Toyota Repair: 93 toyota celica, toyota celica, side terminal

Question
Hi, i have a 93 toyota celica and last night my car wouldnt start.  the lights on the dash would come on dimly but not when i put my foot on the break.  i tried to pop start it and it wouldnt work.  my brother then came and jump started me and it worked right away, we let it run for about 5 min and then i parked it.  this morning it wouldnt start again and so i called AAA and they came and jumped it again it started fine, i pulled about 1/2 a block away and it shut off no gas power and no lights.  i dont have much gas in the car if that matters and before i jumped it last night i did hit a dip in the road  and it scratched the bottom front of my car but it didnt effect my the car as i could tell it drove fine(if that matters)  anyway does this sound like my batterie or alternator? thanks for your time!

Answer
It sounds like the battery is the problem so replace it and see if there is an improvement, after installing the new battery and the engine is running, disconnect the negative side terminal of the battery, if the engine keeps running the alternator is good, if the engine dies replace the alternator as well,it is not charging.
