Toyota Repair: 90 camry, steering wheel lock, lock cylinder

Question
Steering wheel lock is not working, key is difficult to remove in lock position without turning it off quickly.  If turned to off, I imagine breaking the key off would be a factor if not done quickly from the on position.  'Tried lubricating the lock cylinder with no luck.  Would like to defeat the steering wheel lock feature.  How do I do that?  What is the procedure to remove the lock cylinder to get at the rod to the steering lock?  I'd rather not drill out the rivets holding the ignition switch stalk to the steering column if possible.  Thanks

Answer
You need to replace the ignition lock cylinder, get a new one from the dealer first, then you need to remove the plastic covers around the sttering column, turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position, locate the release pin(look at the new sitch to find it)it will only release in this position, push the pin in and the lock cylinder will pull out, install the new one in the acc position, the key will be different and will not work in the doors etc., if you want the same key to work in the ignition and all the doors and the trunk you will have to take the new lock and the old key to a locksmith and have the lock rekeyed before installing.
