Toyota Repair: I have a 1978 corrola 1.6L..., corrola, sight glass

Question
I have a 1978 corrola 1.6L tc2. I have rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new fuel pump, replace all vacum lines, replace the plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap,and it still acts like its starving for gas when I accelerate,it bogs down and loses power.but it idles great....thanks.......Dan

Answer
Check the float level in the carburetor, there is a sight glass on the carburetor bowl, make sure the fuel level is about halfway up in the sight glass.
If not you need to remove the carburetor top and measure the float setting with the gauge that came with the rebuilt kit(did you do this?).
Anothe possibility is that the secondary circuit is not opening, the secondary butterfly may not be opening and it is running on the primary jet only, also make sure that the primary and secondary jets did not get mixed up and installed backwards, just some ideas for you to consider, let me know what you come up with but make sure the float level is ok first.
