Toyota Repair: 1987 Celica Intermittent Starting Issue, toyota celica, toyota dealer

Question
Good Morning,  I have a 1987 Toyota Celica with 83,000 miles on it.  It has an intermittent starting problem where about every 5-10 starts, I will turn over the starter, it will crank but not start and then the second time it will fire right up.  I have checked out the starter and fuel pump and these are not the issue.  It seems to happen more often when I go on a long drive let it sit for several hours and then try starting again.  I know with some of your previous answers you have mentioned the distributor and I have seen other answers that have mentioned something with some sort of air hose of some sort that may need to be replaced.  I have a good mechanic but it happens so infrequently it is tough to find a time for it to happen and for him to hear it.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Answer
I'm afraid I can't be of much help, you can check the intake air tube from the air filter to the throttle body for any cracks or leaks, this may or not be the problem, another thing you may want to try is replacing the cold start injector time switch, you can get it at the toyota dealer parts department, it's located near the thermostat and see if that helps.
