Toyota Repair: transmission lockout switch location, salvage yard, toyota camry

Hello, need to locate a transmission lockout switch on a 1998 Toyota Camry as I'm hoping to get one from a salvage yard. As such, are there any special tools required for removal of the part?  Also, do I need specifically another '98  or can I try a range of years?

I'm assuming that it is the shift interlock that you are having the problem with and you are going to replace the entire shift lever assembly. There are no special tools required just some hand tools, I'm not sure if one from another year will interchange, make sure that if yours has O/D or not that you get one that matches the original, the salvage yard operator should be able to cross reference the part number to see if one from another year is the same.
