Toyota Repair: toyota prius transmission oil pump, transmission leaks, toyota prius

Question
Can I replace the Prius transmission cover on the left myself? My oil pump cover on the transmission leaks a little (several drops a day when it is parked)in Toyota Prius 2003 at the very bottom, where two aluminum 0.5 inch disks are. One of them was hit slightly by the curb.
Do I need to be aware that things will fall apart and not bolt up again if I remove the cover? I have done some transmission jobs before, I know basics. Is there any air bleeding procedures related to the cover replacement?

Answer
Ok, so you hit a curb and the transmission is now leaking, is that correct?
What you are calling the transmission is actually not a transmission, the prius doesn't have a transmission but rather, a hybrid vehicle drive unit, there are no parts available and if there is any damage or malfunction the entire unit must be replaced.
I strongly advise you to not try to attempt any repairs to the hybrid system because of the extremely high voltages involved that are present in the system, only qualified Prius factory trained technicians are qualified to work on them.
All of the orange cables and connectors are high voltage(about 300 volts DC or A/C) and if you do not know what you are doing this voltage will "KILL YOU" better have a professional technician check it and make a recommendation.
