Toyota Repair: RAV4, autotrader, improved technology

Question
Greeting, Ted!
I'm in the market for RAV4. What mileage and year would you suggest me to look for, taking into the consideration timing belt change at 60000 mil.
Thanks a lot
Allen
p.s. any advice where to look for a low price car.

Answer
Up to the 2000 model the engines used a timing belt, 2001 and up they use a different engine that uses a timing chain which lasts much longer, possibly into the 200,000 mile range, the engine has more power due to improved technology, I recommend buying the later model, I don't know how much you are wanting to spend.
A good place to look is the Autotrader, go online to autotrader.com and it will show you cars that are available in your area and how much they sell for, when you do find one feel free to ask me any question about it that you may have, it would also be a good idea to get the seller to agree to have the car inspected by a dealer or another repair facility before buying it. This will be at your expense but well worth it.
