Toyota Repair: Where does alternator wire go?, wire colors, 1992 toyota previa

I am in the UK and have a 1992 Toyota Previa GL Auto. A few days back the oil change, low brake fluid and charge lights all lit on the dash. Sometimes they would go out, sometimes not.  They now stay on and I am sure the battery isn't charging.  On investigation under the bonnet I find a small wire floating loose from the back of the alternator and guess this could be the cause. Can I easily remove the alternator myself?  Can you tell me where this wire should go?
Looking down on the alternator from the front of the car the wire concerned is on the back left and appears to come from somewhere lower down.  Hope that is enough info for you to help.

Can you tell me what color the wire is, if only one wire is loose there should only be one connection for it to go back and, you should try to repair the connection first before replacing the alternator, if you need more help I can send a wiring diagram to you illustrating the wire colors and the connectors, I will need an email address.
