Toyota Repair: A/C in 1995 Camry, 90,000 miles, leak detector, inefficiency

A/C works on first use of day or after sitting for an hour or more.  After short stops, however, there is no cooling.

The first step is to hook up a set of a/c gauges to the system to see if the pressures are correct, there may be a leak in the system which is the most common cause of a/c inefficiency, there could be many other problems but I recommend having someone connect the gauges and diagnose the problem and find a possible leak with a leak detector.
