Toyota Repair: Stuck Chock, course thanks, oil deposits

Question
Hi,
  I have a 1985 corolla with a 2E petrol engine.
It has done some 185000 km.It had some strating problems and power loss which were cuased by the automatic chock in the carb getting stuck due to due to oil deposits, dust etc. I managed to get it loose with some petrol but can you suggest a better method(without replacing the part of course!).

Thanks

Answer
You can get some commercially available carburetor cleaner and spray it on the area while moving the choke plate until it becomes free and moves easily. You can use a small brush, an old toothbrush works well, to scrub the parts and the inside of the throttle bore of the carburetor.
