Toyota Repair: Rear brakes, rear brakes, toyota camry

Question
I have a 91 Toyota Camry DX 5 speed 214000 miles. When I apply my brakes the rear brakes don't seem to be working. I replaced the shoes ajusted them, fluid is fine, also when I set the parking brake as hard as I can it won't hold the car on a slite to steep grade checked the cable it's fine. The front brakes are working fine. Any help would be appreciated. Brian

Answer
It sounds like the rear brake shoes are still out of adjustment especially if you can pull the emergency lever way up, it should only go up about 4-6 clicks, readjust the rear brakes tighten the adjusting wheel until there is a drag felt when turning the drum.
