Toyota Repair: transmission, transmission problem, cly

Question
I have a 93 camry 4 cly auto with 200000 kilo
when driving sometimes it slips out of gear you find the car not moving .if I switch off the engine and start it drives  before it does it again the engine keeps running all the time.
what could be the problem?

Answer
Obviously a transmission problem, the first thing to do is to check that the fluid is up to the full mark, then look at the condition of the fluid, pull out the dipstick and put a drop or two on a white piece of paper, if the fluid is real dark and smells burned there is a major problem in the making and the transmission will need to be replaced soon.
