Toyota Repair: Problem starting 1999 Sienna, bellhousing, turning the key

Question
My wife and I are having trouble starting our 1999 Sienna.  I have replaced the battery, checked the alternator, and now thinking of tearing into to starter.  In the past week the car sometime prematurely cuts-out before it starts our nothing happens at all upon turning the key.  Do you think it is likely the starter?  Also, can you suggest a general procedure (ex. battery out?, Ar filter & duct out, etc) and guess how long it might take for me to replace it myself ?

Answer
It sounds like the starter is the problem, you need to remove the air cleaner and the hoses to access the bolts on the starter, there are two 14mm bolts attaching it to the bellhousing, disconnect the negative side of the battery and remove the small connector on the solenoid and the 12mm nut that connects the main battery cable.
