Toyota Repair: plastic screws, interior trunk trim, plastic screws, light bulbs

Question
I replaced burned out tail light bulbs in my wife's 99 Camry.  I removed the plastic trim panels on the interior of the trunk to access the plugs.
I broke the plastic "screws" that secure the plastic trim.  I was under the mistaken impression that I could reuse the plastic screws by reinserting them into the holes in the metal.  I broke every one of them.
Do you remove the "screw" part and insert the "nut" part into the metal.  I am not sure that the screw and nut plastic pieces will separate.

Answer
I guess that you are going to replace all of them, insert the plastic base into the metal part and then push the screw part in to secure them, if you can't seperate the two pieces push the center osf the screw all the way out and then installing them and pressing the center in.
