Toyota Repair: Shimmy, 1990 toyota camry, toyota camry

Question
Hi! This is probably a question that could relate to any car. Here goes...For the last 3 months or so when I start out or I am coming to a stop the car starts to shake side to side ( it happens when the speedometer reads 20 on down to 0). Do you know what may be causing this? I was thinking maybe a alignment needed and than someone else just told me it may be a tie-rod. Thanks for any help you can offer me.

Answer
Check the tires, there may be a flat spot or tread seperation, try rotating the tires to the rear and see if there is an improvement, there may also be a bent rim so check for that also, if the problem goes away when the tires are moved to the rear replace both of those tires.
