Question
I figured this, but what I need to know, if you know, is whether this is something that I can possibly do myself.

Question -
I have a 1990 Toyota Corolla; over the past couple of months, turn signal has gone from being slow to occasionally not working, to its current condition of actually flashing the light ONLY when I wiggle the signal arm up or down, depending on whether I'm going left or right.  I think that the flasher unit needs to be replaced, but my mechanic disagreed with me in July, when the problem was only sporadic.  He is no longer my mechanic.  I need to know whether this is something that I could conceivably replace myself... help?!?!
Answer -
The problem is the switch on the steering column, the entire combination switch assembly needs to be replaced to fix this.

Answer
The steering wheel has to be removed, it can be removed with a steering wheel puller, then the plastic covers have to come off from around the steering column, the switch is held on with four phillips screws and a wire connector at the lower part of the column.
