Toyota Repair: maintence light, automatic transmission fluid, toyota corolla

Question
just bought a 05 toyota corolla..owners manual says that at 5000 miles a maintence light will come on to change the oil....the manual does not show how to turn the main. light off...

how do you turn the light off?


also the owners manual does not show how to check the automatic transmission fluid?

how do you check it...and why not in book? did toyota mess up?

Answer
There is a dipstick to check the auto trans fluid it's located towards the front and has a red handle on it.
Reset the maint light by doing the following:
Turn the ignition key on
Make sure the odometer is in the "ODO" mode, NOT "TRIP"
Push and hold the reset button
Turn the key off
Turn the key back on while still hoding the reset button in
The maint light will flash and then go off
Release the button
Start the engine
