Toyota Repair: Power Window/Steering, ray moxley, vicksburg ms

Question
Dear Sir,
My wife's 97 Toyota Camry LXE with approx 150K miles on it has started to have several issues.  First the Power window will work to lower the window then raise, it and sometimes half way through the raise cycle, slow down and stop.  After a while it will work again slowly.

I am fairly mechanically minded, is this something the above average back-yard car mechanic can repair, I am assuming I need to replace the power window motor which is probably overheating or something in that nature, but just a guess on my part.

My next issue is power steering fluid leaks.  It started leaking power steering fluid and I have refilled it and it will leak out again.  Again is this something I should leave to professionals or might do myself.

Lastly, recently when we start it and put our foot on the brake and go to shift into gear, it wants to idle down and stall.  Again, should I leave this to experts, or try to diagnose and fix it myself?

Back in the day of simpler automobiles, I have replaced master brake cylinders, brake pads, clutches, done body repair, tune-ups, change plugs, and the like with out any problems.

Thanks in advance for your time and effort!

Answer
The window problem may be the motor or the window regulator, neither is exactly easy to replace. The door panel has to be removed to inspect which one is causing the problem.
The power steering fluid loss may be due to a power steering pump leak or a leak at the steering rack seals, repairing either one is not recommended and we normally replace these if they are leaking.
If there is no engine misfire and it is running smoothly the idle problem is possibly caused by the idle speed control valve located on the throttle body.
