Hello Ted,
I had engine coolant leaking from a hose and repaired the hose and the car is still overheating...a friend told me it is the thermostat?  Is this easy to change and get to?
Can you give me an idea of what the steps are to change this out?
It is a 1996 toyota camry.
Thanks so much.

I'll be glad to help but I need to know if it is a four cylinder or V-6 engine, I can send you an illustration if you can give me an email address.

Answer
The V-6 is a little more difficult to get to, you will need to remove the alternator belt, the thermostat is located just below the water pump, there are three 12mm nuts on the housing, there is another 12mm bolt holding the housing on to a bracket which also needs to be removed, the problem is that there is very limited space to work with.
