Toyota Repair: 93 Toyota starting problem, jumper cables, car person

Question
Hey Ted,
I have a 93 Camry SE, which I left unattended for about 40 days. When I came back town I found that all the power was gone since I forgot to turn the light off when I left. Tried to jump start it several times, but it won't work. When I turned the switch on, the radio and light indicator is fine but the engine could not run and all I heard is some noise like trying to start but not like click click. After that, it went dead, no power again, with the jump cable still there.

Sorry I am not a car person and my question might be silly. I am just wondering if I should check the battery first and change a new one. Or it might be a spark plug or starter problem? Thanks a lot and wait for your reply.

Answer
It sounds like the battery is almost dead, I don't know what battery you are using to jump start it but the best way to try to jump start is with another car with the engine running and good jumper cables that can handle the high current, if you are not able to jump start the battery, replace it.
