Toyota Repair: 1986 Toyota a/c clutch, toyota corolla sr5, 1986 toyota corolla sr5

Question
I have a 1986 Toyota Corolla SR5 1.6L .  I had the a/c system recharged w/R12 and it was working great. The compressor clutch just died ... can it be replaced?  If so, is there a bolt holding the clutch on and will a gear puller work to get it off? I would like to keep the system intact with the R12 charge so don't want to change the compressor.

Thanks, Terry

Answer
There is a 10mm bolt on the front of the clutch that needs to come off, then the front half of the clutch pulls off, there is a snap ring that holds on the rear part of the clutch and another snap ring underneath that holds the magnetic coil on, this one goes back only one way, with the concave side facing up, if you install it backwards you can ruin the new clutch, good luck with this, let me know if you need more help.
