Toyota Repair: ac button flash, light button, button flash

Question
Hi, the AC 'on light' button on my 88 camry started to flash. The compressor is then shut down. The driver manual indicates that it is a belt slip indication, but that is not the case. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Mark.

Answer
The system may be low on freon, there may be a leak, the first step is to have the low and high side pressures checked and freon added as needed to bring the pressures to within specifications and see if the system works normal, if the light continues to flash even though there is enough freon in the system the problem could be the revolution sensor on the back or on the underside of the A/C compressor, these were a known cause of this problem.
