Toyota Repair: repair, air impact wrench, toyota carola

Question
91 toyota carola how do i change driverside cv joint?

Answer
I discourage people from trying to this because the axle nut is tightened to about 300 ft/lbs, you will need either a very long bar with a 39mm socket or an air impact wrench to remove it, once this nut is off remove the two 17mm nuts and one bolt from the bottom ball joint then pull the steering knuckle off the shaft and tie it out of the way then you will have to pry the axle out of the transmission, you will need two large prybars and pry between the transmission housing and the cv joint, they can be stubborn but eventually will pop out of the transmission.
