Toyota Repair: FRONT WINDOW leagky, drain tubes, toyota camry

Question
Hi,

Thanks a lot for your help! I will have someone check the sun roof drain tube. Can I do it by myself?

When it's heavy raining outside, water drop into the car along with the left front corner of the car, and the carpet will be wet. Acturally, I used tape to seal the left bottom of the front window (the borderline between the window and the rubber), then, There are no water drop into the car even in heavy rain. However, the tape can only seal the car for several weeks. I want to solve the problem thoroughtly. I also check other person's cars, the rubber seems not conglutinate on the window. How can car proof water? Do I need to replace the whole front window or have someone reseal it? How much do I need to pay for this repair. Hope hear from you soon!

  Thanks again!!

My car is 1997 Toyota Camry LE. The front window seems not seal tightly. When it's raining outside, water can drop into the car along with the left bottom of the fromt window. What can I do? Replace the whole window or just seal the window with adhesives? How much do I need to pay for this?

Since this is an LE model it should have a sunroof, if so, a leak into the car from a clogged or disconnected sunroof water drain tube is a much more likely cause, have it checked for this first.

Answer
With the sunroof open pour some water into the drain channel, you will see the holes for the drain tubes towards the front on both sides, if the water doesn't drain out the bottom of the car there is a problem, if the water just sits there and doesn't go down there is a clogged drain tube, if the water leaks inside the drain tube is disconnected, you will need to pull down the front part of the headliner near the sunvisor to check if the plastic drain tube is attached to the metal drain pipe.
