Toyota Repair: Previa Cruise Control, cruise control system, jumper wire

Question
I have a 1991 Previa automatic with 176,000 miles.
I bought it used about a month ago for a song. It has no big problems but one irritation.
When i purchased it the cruise control was working perfect. While using it one day, I held the lever down to coast a bit then i pushed it up to accelerate which it did just fine. After I let the lever go, it slowed down as if it was not working, and it has not worked ever since. Now, when I push the button on the end of the lever to turn ON the cruise, the indicator light blinks for approximately 5 seconds and then it goes OFF.
It will not come back ON at all after that until I turn the ignition off and then back on at which point it does its blink thing. Got any ideas?

Answer
The cruise control system has self diagnostic ability, to see what the trouble code is connect a jumper wire on the diagnostic connector between terminals 3 and 15 the cruise control indicator light will flash to give a number code which will indicate the trouble area, I suggest that you have the toyota dealer do this and let me know what the code is and what they recommend doing about it.
