Toyota Repair: ball joint repair, hyundai accent, second guess

Hi Ted,  

I just had my brakes done and the mechanic said I also need a right lower ball joint.  I've looked up the symptoms of a bad ball joint and my car hasn't had any steering problems, alignment seems great, etc.  Do you think it really needs replacing if I haven't noticed any problems?  The car is a 2000 Hyundai Accent, but there are no experts in that category! :)

I can't second guess someone else's diagnosis or recommendation without me checking the car myself, I kind of doubt that there is a ball joint problem with a car that is 4 years old, I recommend that you have someone else check it to see if this is the case.
