Toyota Repair: Engine Light On (Malfunction Indicator Lamp), toyota camry, engine misfire

Yellow Engine Light has been on for 3 Months. Car is now has a popping sound when gas pedal is pressed slightly and jerks. Car only accelerates when gas pedal is pushed down to floor to get the engine to rev up and to keep it from cutting off and to move. When car is at stop light or stop, engines sounds like it is going to cut off. I then have to put car in park or neutral to rev up engine to keep engine from cutting off. When I press the gas pedal it sometimes cut off. Repair shop replace the front catalytic converter sensor but it didn't help. They say I need to also replace back catalytic convertor sensor which I don't believe is the problem. I have a 1999 Toyota Camry, 63,000 Miles w/ automatic transmission.

This condition should make the check engine light come, I would not replace the O2 sensor, I do not think it's the problem, it sounds to me that there may be an electrical engine misfire, at this point I need to know what the diagnostic trouble codes are(were).If there are no trouble codes now I suspect there may be a problem with the idle speed control valve, it's located on the throttle body. Try replacing it.
