Toyota Repair: 1994 toyota 4runner, air flow meter, toyota 4runner

Question
hi, i had my toyota's engine rebuilt, when i got it back i noticed an erratic idle and a high idle(over 1300rpm) they told me to replace the TPS sensor so i did and that fixed the erratic idle but not the high idle, sometimes the idle will be extremly low when i first start the car(like 400rpm) and it dies out when i put it in drive or reverse but if i gun it and take off and if i drive it a lil the idle will go up and run good for a while then it will go high, another shop told me to replace the air flow meter by the air filter and i did but that did not solve the idle, like i said sometimes it starts extremly low only to go higher if you run the engine for like 5 min, and sometimes it starts perfect only to go above 1300 rpm's after you drive it awile, please help.

Answer
It may be an air leak in the intake system, make sure the clamps on the intake air tubes are tight and there are no cracks in the rubber hoses, the large black ones from the air cleaner to the throttle body.
Have the shop check the EGR valve vacuum hose routing, if installed wrong they can cause idling problems.
