Question
I have a 2000 Toyt camery with a 4 cylinder and the water pump went out, the water pump is driven by the timing belt, when this happened the car jumped time and i need to know where to look and find the timing marks on the camshaft and crankshafts are located and then where on the block the marks are. thank  you

Answer
There is a small hole in the cam gear, this is lined up with the indent on the top of the front cam journal, you will need to rotate the cam to top dead center and use a mirror to line it up, look throught he hole until it is lined up with the dot.
On the bottom on the crankshaft gear is a very small groove on the outside edge, you may have to remove the gear to find it and then mark it and put it back, it is lined up with a protrusion on the oil pump housing, you can get close by rotating the crankshaft until the keyway is pointing straight up, if you have difficulty finding these marks, reinstall the bottom plastic cover with the timing marks on it,temporarily put on the crankshaft pulley and line up the notch on the pulley with the O degree mark, remove it without turning it and mark the inner crank pulley with a paint marker, this is the reference point for #1 top dead center.
