Toyota Repair: 86 MR2 starting problem, plug caps, accellerator

Question
My '86 Toy. MR2, 5 sp., has been sitting idle for quite a while - couple of years, very little use.  Trying to spruce it up for sale, I sprayed the engine with Gunk Foamy Engine Brite.  I was a little careless, and didn't cover up components, and sprayed pretty liberally with water afterwards.  Now, engine is very difficult to start, and it is running very roughly...won't maintain an idle, even.  Checked under spark plug caps on top of the engine block - lots of fluid present...I'm very limited re: cars...but that doesn't look right.  Got engine to turn over, but when I depressed the accellerator, it had no significant effect on engine speed.  Throttle not working?

Answer
You have to get all the water out of the spark plug tubes, the best way is to remove the spark plugs and just let it go into the cylinders and the crank the engine over with the spark plugs still out to get all the water out, also remove the distributor cap because there is water inside it, dry the cap out with compressed air or remove the moisture with towels and it should run normally again.
