Toyota Repair: Axle problem?, toyota tercel, drive axles

Question
My 92 toyota tercel has developed the following problem over the last 3 or 4 weeks:
when changing lanes and /or over a bump at speeds over 50/60 mph the car will weave from side to side, it had done this only slightly then today i lost complete control after changing into the left lane and nearly crashed before i could regain control.

About a month ago, when getting my brakes repaired i was told that the front axle needed to be replaced - and they did.  Is there a relation between the two things?  THe car didn't do this before this "repair".
I also noticed on looking closer at the reciept / repair ticket that they charged me for 2 axles and installation on front axle.
Am i crazy or isn't there only one front axle?

Another problem - i got the repair done outside of the city i live in and don't really want to (and can't really safely drive it) back there.  Is there precedent for having the initial repair shop pay for the repair at my local mechanic?

Answer
The problem may be related to the axle replacement if they left some bolts loose on the suspension  and they fell out, my suggestion is to have a mechanic look at it, the problem should be obvious and then go from there, you will probably have to pay for the repair wherever you are now and "if it was the other shops fault" try to get reimbursed by them, make a phone call and let them know what happened ,make sure you keep a copy of the repair order. And yes, there are two drive axles.
