Toyota Repair: brake light always on, brake fluid reservoir, level switch

Question
I have a 97 celica gt.  Recently the brake light came on and is staying on.  I pulled the center console and the switch looks fine.  I checked the brake fluid level and it was very low.  I filled it up expecting the light to go off, It didn't.  I played with the connection at the resevoir and it looked o.k. it did have some brake fluid on it though.  I finally unplugged the connection to the resevoir and looked at the brake light.  It was on and when I released the parking brake it went off.  I reconnected the wires to the resevoir and the light wouldn't go off again.  I was thinking it's just a bad switch at the resevoir, but wasn't sure if there is some sort of reset switch.  I'm out of ideas.

thanks in advance

Answer
There is a level sensor in the brake fluid reservoir, there is also a warning switch on the emergency brake handle to let you know if it is not released, either one will turn the warning light on, since the light went off when you released the emergency brake the problem is in the level switch in the reservoir, try tapping on the reservoir to see if the level switch frees up and the light will go off, if that doesn't work you will need to replace the master cylinder, there is no reset switch.
