Toyota Repair: hesitation upon accelerating, hesitation problem, chevy dealer

Question
The answer was PO 170 Fuel Trim Lean  Bank 1   Also I take it to a chevy dealer that I am satisfied with the service.  The toyota dealership is about 80 miles away and I don't really have time to take it there and the chevy guys are happy for the work.

I have a 4 cylinder 1995 T-100 with 126000 miles on it.  About four weeks ago the check engine light came on. At the same time I would start the engine in approximately 50 degree weather. I wouldn't let it warm up.  it takes about two minutes to come to the first stop sign. At that point, when I went to accelerate, it would feel like it was stuck in first gear - no zip at all and would get to about 10mph.  then after about 50-100 feet it would kick in and it would be fine.  there was no sputtering or "burping" when I went go to accelerate.  Took it to the garage.  They replaced the air filter and fuel filter and said that according to the test it was running a little lean. Drove it for a day and the check engine light came back on the next day but no hesitation problem until about a week later.  Now it does the hesitation thing again. I'm not really concerned as to drving around town, but a longer trip - who knows? The garage said maybe it's the fuel pump, but in this day of electronic everything, my feeling is that it either works or doesnt/  Also they did not think it was the catalytic converter as if it was that, that it would be constant.  hope this helps.  Any thoughts

Fuel pump failures don't trigger check engine lights, at least not on this model, it would help me to know what the diagnostic trouble code is that made the check light come on.

Answer
I guess I should have also asked you what the engine designation is because they changed the engines midway through 1995, look under the hood at the label and let me know if it is a 3VZ-FE or a 5VZ-FE it makes a difference in trying to diagnose this condition which is, by the way, a fuel system too lean condition but the repair procedures are different for each engine.
