Toyota Repair: Smoke when I reach 3500 rpm Help!!!!!, worst case scenario, coolant level

Question
Hi I'm a 31 yr. old mom of 2 with a desperate question about my 97 camry. Everyone wants to put their 2 cents in and I'm confused!!! My camry has 95000 mi. and recently upon heavy acceleration (uphill) if I reach about 3500 rpm I started noticing some white smoke from my tailpipe. My coolant level remains fine, my temp. gauge reads normal, I have my oil and filters changed about every 3000 mi. Today it happened really bad uphill with my cruise set on 60mph, I noticed the smoke. It goes away quickly, but I think I smelled something burning today when it happened too but I'm not sure if it was me or one of the 2 semi's I was passing. The smell went away quickly too. I'm scared to death to drive it and cannot afford another car so repair would be my only answer. What kinds of repairs could I be getting into? I'm scared and desperate!!!!
Thank you so much!

Answer
White smoke(steam) is always caused by coolant burning either internally or an external leak and it is getting on the exhaust pipes, if you are absolutely sure the smoke is white and not blue I recommend having the cooling system pressure tested for a leak, I know you said the coolant level is fine but if there is white steam it's caused by coolant leaking, I'm sure this is the case, you said it goes away quickly, if it was oil smoke it would stay in the air for a long time, have the cooling system pressure tested and if there is no external leak have it checked for an internal leak, possible headgasket leak(worst case scenario).
