Toyota Repair: excessive oil consumption, excessive oil consumption, toyota solara sle

Question
i have a 2002 toyota solara sle. 62000 miles. automatic transm. over the past few months my car has been consuming a lot of oil. About every other week i put in about 3 quarts of oil. i first noticed my oil light come and i put a couple of quarts. couple weeks later it came on again and checked the stick and found it bone dry. i had the oil and air filter changed but the problem persisted. Also my car smokes (white smoke) when i first turn it on. It doesn't happen everytime and stops smoking after 30 sec or so. ive checked for oil leaks underneath the car but found none. I have neglected my car only having had 3 oil changes since i've owned it and have not changed the spark plugs and wires yet.

Answer
Possibly valve stem seals leaking or piston ring problem, these engines will form sludge or oil gelling if the oil is not changed regularly, at least every 5000 miles, I recommend removing the valve cover for inspection(4cyl) or the front valve cover(V-6) have it tested for possible low compression or a leaking headgasket.
